Services

I provide personal and professional breastfeeding services as an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) to parents and parents-to-be in North Brisbane.  My services are provided in your own home or you can come to me.  Consultations include a follow-up phone call/text and a discount if a further appointment is needed.

After-hours and weekend appointments available.  Some private health funds may provide rebates.

Before Baby Arrives (45 minute -1.5 hour Consultation)

My Breastfeeding Preparation Sessions help you to prepare for your breastfeeding journey while you are pregnant.  You will be armed with information on getting things off to a great start and can help if breastfeeding didn’t go well last time.  During the consultation we will discuss

  • your individual situation and history
  • things you can do to get breastfeeding off to a great start
  • what to expect of your newborn
  • ways to overcome common breastfeeding challenges should they arise

Research shows that when you have received breastfeeding education before your bubba arrives, you are more likely to have better breastfeeding outcomes. With the right information, lots of breastfeeding challenges can be avoided.

Sessions include a follow-up phone call/text and discount if you need another consultation once your bubba arrives .

Breastfeeding Preparation Package

My Breastfeeding Preparation Package includes both the breastfeeding preparation session (above), support during your pregnancy, information and support during the time of your birth and a consultation within 7 days of birth (when home).  This package offers continuity of care – care from someone you are already familiar and comfortable with – when you bring your new bubba home.

Breastfeeding Not Going To Plan (1 – 2 Hour Consultation)

When your baby comes along, breastfeeding may not be as you expected.  I can help you with

  • painful breastfeeding
  • difficulty with baby attaching to the breast
  • mum returning to work
  • baby not gaining weight as expected
  • mastitis
  • low milk supply
  • over-supply
  • baby fussing at or refusing the breast
  • any other breastfeeding issue which is concerning for parent or baby

I offer a 7 day/week service, because your baby just can’t wait until Monday!

I can visit in your home or you can come to me. Consultations include a follow-up phone call/text and a discount if a further appointment is needed.
